The didelphic uterus represents a complete lack of fusion of the two Mullerian ducts with subsequent (independent) development of both ducts. Essentially, there are two unicornuate uterine cavities next to one another each with their own cervical opening into the vaginal vault. The didelphic uterus is also usually associated with a longitudinal vaginal septum (in the upper one third of the vagina), which creates two (separable) vaginal cavities.
